A Foggy Day in Thoresby Park, 2025.

 Top to bottom:
Perlethorpe Church & graveyard, Perlethorpe Environmental Education Centre / School, and two trees in the nearby vicinity.

  1. Not sure if your blog is still functioning, but hey ho ! My 3rd gt grand aunt was housekeeper at Thorseby. Do you know if there are any records relating to the hall in the 1880s/90s

  2. Hi anon. I'm still functioning. It is really hard now to find much information about Thoresby’s past. They concentrate very much now on current entertainment facilities and weddings. Understandably so for financial reasons.
There was a booklet put together by C A Bollans (ex head teacher in the park), which was quite informative. It never reached official publication, but it was available for a while, in photo copy format, in Thoresby Courtyard. Sadly, the gifts & souvenirs shop there has gone.
It had listings of people who worked on the estate on given years. Maybe someone at Thoresby Courtyard or the estate office could help. (To be honest, I doubt it.)
I do hope you’re lucky in your search.
